Boom land, where freedom and love grow

There are still many misconceptions about what Boom Festival is and represents – mainly, they come from who has never experienced it. I was one of those, until 2012, where the two days I gave myself to go there (thinking it would be more than enough), I gave myself in. Completely.

If you’re not a raver by heart, you probably won’t know the expression “PLUR” – Peace Love Unity Respect – but if you have a little bit of a raver inside, you’d have experienced the principles of this shared conduct on a dancefloor somewhere:

PEACE: The avoidance of negative emotions and conflict.

LOVE: Performing acts and sharing feelings of goodwill towards others. The exchange of gestures such as hugging occurs frequently at a rave, and is considered a way of “spreading the love.”

UNITY– Welcoming others into the community, and coming together regardless of personal differences.

RESPECT – Showing sensitivity for the feelings of others, and accepting one another with tolerance and without judgement. Treating each other as one would like to be treated.

In Boom, you experience this ever since you set your feet on that magical gathering land.

Sounds exaggerated? It’s not.

People share hugs, smiles, water, give you they place in line, share glitter, sunglasses, memories, dreams, thoughts and beliefs, cool you down, lift you up, show you love.

Bottom line, 40.000 people caring for each other will certainly change something inside you.

It might not be a festival for everyone. But the truth is, it can change some. To become One.

And because sharing is caring, me and Gustavo decided to make a shared gallery to share with you – been there or not, surely you heard stories of friends and could get a bit of what we lived there.

Hopefully this will bring a bit of that amazing feeling back again:
